At ABC Pediatrics, our goal is to be as accessible to our patients as possible. Below are several policies that we have created to help protect your relationship with ABC Pediatrics and provide guidelines for sensitive interactions.

Immunization Policy

Our physicians strongly believe immunizations protect children’s health and save lives. We follow the AAP immunization schedule and we require all of our patients to become fully vaccinated following these guidelines. To see the full immunization schedule, click here.

Prescription Refills

Please call us during normal business hours and allow 24 hours for routine refills. You can help make the refill process more efficient by providing us with the full name of your medication(s), the dosage and frequency, and the name/phone number of your pharmacy. At times, your pediatrician may need to see you in the office before refilling your medication.

Payment Policy

Controlling medical costs is a concern for all of us. We will make every effort to keep costs down, while maintaining the highest, appropriate standards of medical care and service. To help ensure that payment administration is done efficiently, please note the following:

It is our patients' responsibility to know their own insurance benefits, including whether we are a contracted provider with their insurance company, their covered benefits and any exclusion in their insurance policy. We will submit claims to both primary and secondary insurance carriers on our patient's behalf. Patients are responsible for amounts not paid by their insurance carrier. Patients should direct any questions regarding specific benefits or non-covered charges to their insurance carrier.

At the time of service, we expect our patients to pay any co-payment obligations required by their health insurance plan.  If we do not participate with your insurance carrier, full payment is expected at the time of service. To help make insurance reimbursement as easy for you as possible, the receipt that we provide you will contain all of the information that your insurance company needs.  We accept multiple modes of payment, including MasterCard and Visa (including HSA accounts), checks and cash.  For your convenience, all billing inquiries can be directed to (616) 458-3677 between 9am-5pm Monday through Friday.

No Show / Short-Notice Cancellation Policy

The physicians at ABC Pediatrics understand that a patient may, on occasion, miss their appointment time due to unforeseen circumstances.  However, patients who no show, cancel or reschedule any appointment less than 24 hours prior to their appointment time will be charged a nominal fee.  If any member of a family no show/late cancels a total of three or more times combined in a 24 month period, the family may be discharged from the practice.  Please help us to serve you better by keeping your appointments!
